Silviculture is an essential component of sustainable forest management. This is a very important consideration in Latin America ,an area of rapid economic growth and land use change where a large proportion of the global biodiversity is located. This blog is about attempting to find optimal silvicultural prescriptions for these forests and especially the ones in the tropical and subtropical regions that face serious encroachement in size and quality, posts in spanish and portuguese are welcomed.
